In 1835, Jacob Hartzell and his family
settled in what would become Navarro
County, Texas. His descendants acquired
land holdings in the region that have
been divided and passed down to
successive generations to present days.
In 2004, when a portion of those lands
passed into our stewardship, we took the
responsibility seriously. With the
encouragement and guidance of many
local cattlemen, agricultural advisors, and
Texas Longhorn breeders from all over the
country, we have worked to convert our
mesquite patch into a suitable home for a
herd of one of the most amazing breeds
on God's green earth...The Texas
Longhorn.
Our website features the results of our
efforts so far. As you will see, our cattle
have the color, conformation, horns, and
disposition that make longhorns so
special.
